30 seconds clip shows Rudy Giuliani being slapped on the back while in a supermarket in the New York area went viral.

The man who assaulted Rudy is a ShopRite employee. The attacker’s name is Daniel Gill, 39 years old.

After the incident police arrested Gill and charged him with second-degree assault involving a citizen over age 65.

Surveillance footage shows that the incident took place when Rudy Giuliani was standing at a ShopRite store in Staten Island campaigning for his son Andrew Giuliani who is a Republican party candidate for the New York governor election.

The footage has been viewed by more than a million times, Rudy Giuliani can be seen surrounded by people suddenly the ShopRite employee walks from behind and slaps him on the back. Later Rudy Giuliani claimed that those people who surrounded him are supporters.

The footage also showed after slapping on back Gill walked past Giuliani and asked  “what’s up scumbag?”.

Giuliani claimed on a Facebook live video on Monday it felt like a solid bolder was crashed on his back, but he somehow managed from falling on the floor. “Hit the ground and probably crack my skull” Giuliani added.

Giuliani claimed Gill said: “You … you’re one of the people that’s gonna kill women. You’re gonna kill women.” That appeared to be a reference to the decision by the supreme court’s conservative majority to overturn the right to abortion that had been established nearly 50 years ago by Roe v Wade.

“Then he starts yelling out all kinds of, just curses, and every once in a while, he puts in that woman thing,” Giuliani added.

His son  Andrew Giuliani in a statement claimed that every day innocent people of New York feel unsafe and are being attacked without any reason.
